When it comes to filmmaking, directing, editing and cinematography, John Boatner is an artist on the rise. A graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts with an emphasis on media and film, John aspires to one day join the ranks of Hype Williams, Wes Craven and Spike Lee.The 27 year old Oakland, CA native began pursuing his interest in film in high school. He worked at KDOL a local television station where he was a cameraman and soon became Head Editor for the station.

In college, he also worked as Music Director and Programming Director for the school Television station SRTV. After completing college John started his own media production company, Erratix Productions. The goal of his company is to assist aspiring artists expose their talents to as wide an audience as possible. John has directed and edited music videos for numerous artists in Northern and Southern California and has also worked internationally with artists in France.

In addition to his production company, John also works as a Media and Production Editor for the talent management company, International Creative Management (ICM) in Los Angeles, CA and also works as a video and graphics editor/designer for GLOTV.

  Some of his recent accomplishments include the winning video entry “Shockfest” for the Miss Shockfest Competition 2009 on which he was both the Director and Editor. He also received Honorable Mention at the American Black Film Festival for the short film "The Gift of a Letter" on which he was the editor. 

John loves to stay busy and is always looking for new and interesting projects. He is a big fan of “thinking outside the box”. “Normal is boring” different and strange is a lot more fun.”
